Speaking of cameras...

On Saturday I was cruising Craigslist for a new SLR (No D, too cheap :p ) and found this beauty: http://baltimore.craigslist.org/pho/761214149.html

I immediately got out some of my paycheck and fired off an email, after a short stop to look for info about the C700 (it passed inspection. Not the model I'm used to, but I can use it.)

The hours dragged on. After a day passed, I was afraid that the person had sold it and was just being rude by not responding.

This morning I finally got an email back, and it was still available. I'm picking it up tomorrow then heading out to get chemicals and paper.

congrats!

I've got an old Omega enlarger from the 60s here that I drag out from time to time... it's hard to find time to get in the darkroom and so most of what I'm doing has gone digital, but it's such an enjoyable way to spend the afternoon!

I hope you have tons of fun with it.

Wow, what a great find! I just pieced together a dark room set (without chemicals or paper) but don't really have room in the house yet to set up properly. I love medium format and use a Hasselblad and Rolleiflex TLR. It's good to see people still enjoy the labor of manual photography!

I don't knock digital though, I have a Rebel XT collecting dust I use from time to time.

Is film making a comeback? Here I've got all this film stuff that I never got around to unloading, and am I suddenly cutting-edge? [:D] ]'> [:D] ]'>

I got:

LPL/Saunders 4550XL 4x5 enlarger with color and VC modules

Schneider Componon-S 50 and 80 mm lenses

Fujinon-EX 135mm lens

Jobo CPE-2+ film processor

RH Designs "The Analyser" zone system exposure meter (they're in the UK)

Hall Productions hardwood light box

Kodak densitometer

Peak's best grain magnifier

11x14 trays, print washers etc

Patterson 8x10 contact printing frame

Enough potassium ferricyanide bleach to last several lifetimes

For the moment, it's all sitting idle and cluttering up my apartment, and I figure I'd be lucky to get anywhere near $500 for the lot!

Sometimes I think about doing a little black and white film again, but much lower volume, and with much less gear. Maybe more emphasis on smaller prints, like 5x7 contact prints--hardly need any darkroom at all to do those, and the size seems like a nice compromise.
