SE screen flicker.

My SE started doing the screen-flicker thing. Looks like the image is a little squashed too. Too much space on the bottom.

I'm at work on my lunch so I figured I'd post the video I had on my phone. Looks like it's time to dig out ye olde Dead Mac Scrolls and have a look.

SE Flicker Video

I had to post the link to the video instead of the embedded video code since flash tags don't seem to work here. Can flash be enabled here? Is that a user preference or a site thing?

Anyway, do you think it's time for a recap?

I'd try to slap the machine first to see if it's a bad solder joint problem. If not, look for any dried solder joints by eye and resolder it if you find any.

If everything is well, do a recap of the analog board. The caps on the SE motherboard are probably just fine, I'd be more worried about the analog board ones.

Yeah, definitely sounds like an analog board issue. I checked the scrolls. The only thing I can see that's close is this:

Maybe a mild case?

I doubt it's related to the vertical deflection IC, just try what I say instead. Common problems with the vertical/horizontal deflection IC includes cut-off parts of the image.
