SE/30 PDS issues

Hello,

I'm writing to request suggestions and assistance in resolving an issue i am getting installing an Interware VDR-2A CAD PDS card in my SE/30....

First off, my SE/30 has been slightly modified. It is running off a Bolle rev 3 logic board (constructed by croissantking) with a Macrominator ROM chip, the Bolle ethernet pass-thru card Combocon30 R2.1/902 and the Bolle 68040 accelerator. Its running system 7.5.3 off a bluescsi v2 and has 128mb ram installed.

After installing the Interware card, I plugged in a monitor and turned it on. The monitor displayed the Interware start up screen in colour, but once it was receiving a signal from the mac, it went to a very pale black and white.

Then, on start up, the computer started throwing error messages for not enough memory. Resetting the PRAM temporarily sorted this and allowed me to boot, but other error messages would follow.

Discussing this with croissantking, we viewed the Action Retro video of installing a similar card and his pass-thru card had an anti-blunder switch that needed soldering to enable the pds slot. My card does not have this labelled anti-blunder switch, but there is a switch in a similar location. Does this require soldering together?

Also, the Bolle pass-thru card has jumper settings. Currently no jumpers are fitted... Does anyone have any advice on settings here?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have you measured that your +5v is at a good level?
And by error messages, do you mean things like bus error, address error, illegal instruction, etc, or....?

I havent measured that. However, im just about to recap the PSU, so i'll check that.

You can measure the voltage at the floppy ports or ADB ports. I'd 100% recap that PSU if you haven't already.
