I have a SE FDHD that I would like to restore and I've already read the following topics:

RAM is 2.5MB and it has a 40MB hard disk that is about to fail (terrible noises, sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesn't), the floppy was also shot so I replaced it with a unit from another old Mac that was lying around.

I'll try to get another HD (or to open this one and see if the bump stops are sticky) but in the meanwhile I would like to make it work with just the floppy drive and put in the living room so that my wife can get accustomed it.... :)

I was thinking about a bootable floppy with System 6.0.8 (or 7.0.1), what other utilities do you think I can fit in that disk? Maybe just a screensaver so that I can turn on the Mac from time to time and enjoy the fancy graphic......

Hard disk back to life (still noisy as hell), now running 7.0.1.

I had to modify the floppy bracket because the floppy I got from another Mac was not flush with the slot in the front panel.

By the way, this SE was fitted with a very unusual Kensington screen protection (well, eye-protection really...).
