Hi,
I have my second SE open to remove and clean the fan. Aargh! I was able to loosen and remove all screws holding it onto the board (the analog board, I presume?), but there is a set of two very stubborn wires that are glued in several places to the board, with the fan at the other end! What can I do to remove the fan?
But the main reason I posted this was to ask: is it normal for there to be a brown, crusty, dried-glue sort of substance covering one of the components? It's not a capacitor, but I'm not sure what to call it. And it's covered in this crusty brown stuff; is that normal?
I'll upload pics as soon as I find my USB camera cable...
