SE and SE/30 analog boards interchangeable?

I read through the CRT guide that is stickied but I'm still uncertain. I feel like I remember this question coming up recently but a search did not immediately turn up the answer.

Can I swap an SE analog board into a SE/30 (and vice versa)? I think I managed to strip the width coil on my SE/30 by using the wrong tools on it (by the time I finally got the right tools it was beyond help), and I have a couple of SEs that I generally only use for part swaps. As it stands, my display works but is too wide, and looking at the stretched screen bugs me.

Alternatively, does anyone know how easy/difficult it is to obtain a new width coil?

Yes parts are interchangeable.

My SE/30 originally started its life out as a SE FDHD. Apple offered upgrades that turned your SE into a SE/30.

It included a new front bezel, 1.44meg floppy drive (optional), a new logic board (obviously) as well as a new sticker for the back cover. It did not come with a new Analog Board.

The SE and SE/30 share the same AB.

You might have to adjust a few things after the swap though. I think you'd better take the AB from a computer that has the same brand of CRT.

About the AB fix, I dunno. I'm not an expert. But have you checked variable resistor R4 (Height)? Try adjusting it using PLASTIC tools and if it doesn't work then something is definitely broken.

The height adjustment, and other adjustments, work fine. It's the width which is way out of whack. When I was originally trying to make the adjustments with inadequate tools, I was able to get the width to move a little (I think I'm the one responsible for making it too wide in the first place) but now it is stuck fast and won't move in either direction no matter which tool I use.

Thanks for the answer to my question about swapping analog boards! I'll check the brand of CRT.
