se/30 expansion card

I just picked up an SE/30 and it came with a mystery expansion card . . . it is marked with MoDAM SE030 Rev C  1989 Memory Plus, and has a DB 9 port.  Anyone have an idea what this thing might be? Is it useful?  Does it need drivers? Unfortunately, the SE/30 has a dead hard drive, so there are no clues there as to what it may be. Thanks!

Memory Plus were one of those companies which made everything for compact Macs. Your card is almost certainly for graphics. 9 pin connectors were used for first generation multisync monitors as well as for digital CGA/EGA monitors. Given the date, it is likely to be for an analogue monitor. It may work at VGA rates or it may require a specific display (Panasonic were popular at the time).

Hmm.  So perhaps not particularly useful to me then. I junked all my old monitors years ago except one for my ti99.
