I just took shots of this MoBo for other topics, but I may as well ask for opinions on fixing/modding this MoBo that bit the big one sometime between '04 and '09.
It looks to me as if Apple used the EvilCapCans in lieu of multiple bypass cap protection for major ASICS and RAM/VRAM/ROM banks. If so, might a bad bypass cap be causing the problem? I'll have to pull out the continuity tester to . . . test . . . this hypothesis. Can anyone save me that trouble? [] ]'>

1 - recap Bank A
2 - full recap
3 - replace RAM ICs
4 - skip 3 . . . [}] ]'> . . . hack in more memory: another fuglySIMMhack, a multiple banked ROM SIMM hack or a Two SIMM reversed SIMM Saver hack?
I'm assuming that just disabling Bank A is not going to help reduce the number or tone of the chimes. :-/
