Hi All, I finally got around to playing with my PowerMac 7220/200 (aka 4400) that I acquired ages ago but I'm quite stumped on how to get it working.
There was no PRAM battery so I made one with a AAA Tri-Cell holder as I found a mention somewhere that these machines wont boot without a PRAM battery.
The machine boings and sounds like it's starting up but nothing happens after that. I have what appears to be a 2 MB Video Ram module and 16 MB single sided DIMM installed but no CPU cache module (shouldn't need this to boot I wouldn't think). It also has the original HDD and CD-ROM Drive.
I've got several Mac Video to VGA adaptors which both work great on my LCIII and LC630 - they are configured to use separate H/V Sync and MultiSync res (tried a few different resolutions with no apparent difference). I even bought a Mac PCI ATI Rage 128 video card with standard VGA out in the hopes that would help (it didnt).
Any Ideas?
