PowerCD Power Quesion

Hello all!

I have a question about the PowerCD's power. I am from the US and purchased a British PowerCD with its power supply. So here is my question, does the PowerCD have an internal AC switch to swap from their voltage standard (230V) to US standard (120V)? I was able to test the PowerCD with batteries and confirmed that it does work, just kinda curious if I can just flip a switch before purchasing a step up transformer.

Hope this makes sense! Thanks in advance!

Have you checked the label on the power adapter? According to the user's guide, there were five different adapters. Look for the exact AC input voltage (or voltage range) and frequency. Also, the exact DC output voltage and current (the adapter should provide a DC output voltage, which means that the PowerCD itself has nothing directly to do with AC mains voltages).

At least according to the specifications in the user's guide, the DC input for the PowerCD base appears to be 7 to 11 V, 1.2 A. You may find that your power adapter has a DC output of something like 10 V. It is wise to verify the polarity of the plug; probably + centre (positive).

If the existing power adapter in fact is a single input voltage and frequency (230 or 240 V AC, 50 Hz) model: A universal power adapter (for the local US mains AC input), with an appropriate DC output voltage and current (and the correct plug size and polarity), could possibly be an alternative solution (without the need for a step-up transformer).
