PB1400 RAM

Here's a question: If I roll the dice and get another 1400c for the purposes of cannibalising its RAM to add to the one I have that is sitting at 32MB, will that work? I've read that sometimes stacking memory of different brands = no worky.

Best,

John

Depends if your existing 1400 RAM module; does it have the connector for more RAM to be stacked on ? If so chances are it'll be OK

I'm after 1400c (not cs) screen, if you must cannibalise :)

I had a lot of problems stacking 1400 RAM and eventually I wound up with a combo that gave me 60MB finally (this unit started life as a cs/117). However, even small timing differences between vendors can lead to intermittent freezes or failure to pass POST. If you find someone selling 1400 RAM, try your hardest to get them to sell you multiples or matched sets.

I've had pretty good luck with this, finally got one of mine to 64 cap, but am still looking for another 24 or 32 mb card...if you find a vendor with multiples, can you post on here?

If I find someone who sells them, I'll be glad to post my results here. Thanks much for the advice--sounds very much like hit and miss, but even if it doesn't work I'd have the parts for repair.

Best,

John
