Well my dual450 G4 has been sitting for three weeks or so, and I am now going to use it during this when I sell my 20" iMac. I hit the power and I hear a sizzle and a single long beep. I unplugged it pulled some ram sticks, hit the CUDA button, heard the sales noise but no beep. I saw a screw stuck between the AGP power plug. Pull that out and I now have no video. I took the card out and threw in my Radeon 7000 and that works. I also now hear a 3 hiss sound from the speaker. Did I mention I smelled burning electrics? Could someone tell me what happened?

This was typed on my iTouch so bear with the problems.

My guess is that the screw shorted out something on the motherboard when the system was powered on, delivering current or too much current to something not expecting it.

Is the 7000 a PCI card?

Yeah doesn't sound good, i agree that something must have shorted out, how did that screw get in there?

I think it was when I was swapping out the optical drive. I remember dropping a screw but I couldn't find it. I am actually typing on it right now, but I also think the bus for the optical drive, and the airport slot have shorted out as well because neither of those work.

Well, for shits and giggles, I wanted to see if the AGP slot works. And what do you know it does, I'm not sure what that weirdness was before...
