Hi guys,
I have below card on my 8100/100av. I did a fresh install of Mac OS 7.6 and installed the extension from the Newer website. Screenshot of the extension I downloaded is below.
Everytime I try to boot the system it freeze right when it loads the newer extension. It boots find when I disable the extension. Any idea what is going on? I don’t know if the G3 upgrade works as I am just testing this.

@Phipli do you have any idea about this?
Make sure you have removed the cache from the motherboard first and foremost.

While you have it apart, clean the edge connector on the upgrade with a cotton bud and rubbing alcohol or contact cleaner. If you have some, spray contact cleaner in the PDS slot too. Insert and remove the card a couple of times to mechanically clean the contacts too. Make sure it is properly seated, they're not always easy to get all the way down.

Then try installing the 7.6.1 update, but, more likely.... Try installing 8.1 or 7.5.3 instead.

Then find alternative versions of the Newer driver.

Lastly, make a lightweight OS (minimal install for this Mac) and add the NewerTech extension, shut down, remove all the RAM (so you only have the 8MB onboard) and try booting without any RAM SIMMs.

I have a similar NewerTech card except I have the version with the flex strip that allow the continued use of the HPV card. Tt works in my 7100/80 with the L2 cache still installed. The driver supposedly disables it according to the documentation. My 7100 is running 8.1 though
