Got myself a BlackBerry Curve 8330 off of eBay for the decent sum of $290 shipped NIB. Works great on my Sprint account, and gets 3G coverage here unlike the iPhone :D . The browser isn't as great, but Opera Mini is free and works well too.

My friend has this and it won't work with OS X's built in Bluetooth file transfer, it's forcing him to use the software which is not compatible with mac.

Wrong. It functions as just a standard USB device, similar to a flash drive. Just dump in the appropriate folders. Also, Bluetooth is supported, you just have to tell the thing that you're going to be sending stuff (press the menu key while in the media app.. the menu option is right in there).

Blackberry provides a free copy of PocketMac to sync with a Mac. I don't sync mine but I do use mass-storage device mode to copy files onto it.

For some reason I did not think any of the current Blackberrys provided 3G support. I've been waiting for the Blackberry Bold to replace my Perl. I like my Perl but EDGE is just too slow.

The 8830, 8130 and 8330 support it. (CDMA for Sprint/Verizon/Alltel, supports EVDO data) The rest are EDGE only.

Hey redrouteone, random, but if you feel like it, you can PIN message my 8330. My PIN is 31C82783.
