New ImageWriter II Color Ribbons

an as for the ribbons, there not to bad to R/R
Of course now I have new ribbons that are cheap enough to not have to fool with trying to make one yourself.  ;)

(And personally considering the incredible mess and pain of trying to stuff many feet of ribbon back into a cartridge it never seemed worth it to me to even try that.)

I'm also under the impression that Quickdraw GX (System 7.5) allowed colour printing from any software to the ImageWriter II, using an ImageWriter GX Extension.
Which extension would that be?  I can test it.

On looking into it, I think an installation of Quickdraw GX is what is needed. After that, "ImageWriter GX" is what shows up in the Chooser. I thought there must have been an Extension with that name, and so posted as I did, but on looking just now, I see that there isn't. So the magic must be worked elsewhere.

This is on a 68030 machine running plain-Jane System 7.5. It may be different on later Systems that can run QDGX.

Well said!  MacPallete II does have a few configuration options.  I hope to play with them a bit and see how much of a difference they make.
Please let us know if you do. It always seemed like I must be doing something wrong to get that text problem, but I never could get around it. Even reading that others have the same problem would be useful.

Regarding color without MacPallete II, rudimentary color printing can be done with regular quickdraw. It supports eight colors, IIRC. I do remember creating a document in Excel assigning some of the cells color and printing it with the Apple extension and getting colored cells. So simple color printing can be done, if the application supports the color included in regular Quickdraw.
