Hello,

can you help me with this little bugger please?

http://www.mediafire.com/?5kpdwgyf34cy81p

As it is set now it works with my 7100´s AV card displaying 1024x768 pixel.

I really would like to know what the other settings do, but the info got lost somehow.

I hope you don´t mind my posting a similar question elsewhere.

Thanks!

Hmm, thats...interesting. Most adjustable VGA adapters I've seen usually have around 7 DIP switches...they also have a sticker on the bottom explaining what switch does what. I take it there's no manufacturer anywhere on it?

Maybe you'll find this additional, fresh off the scanner, InfoDump helpful: Video Adapter Docs Scan Dump

Interesting point, there seem to be different effects from the four switches depending on which Mac's Video Output you're adapting.

Dunno, too tired to read it, but I managed to scan & post it . . . zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Thanks all for your answers, you are the greatest!

Of course there´s no sticker on the bottom and no manufacturer - would have been too simple, I presume.

As my setting corresponds well with Trash80toHP_Mini´s scans for Ultra VGA 75Hz, I´m rather sure it must be the one.

I´ll try the other settings if I can find a monitor supporting them, my Siemens TFT will only do "on-on-off-off" it seems.

A big thanks for the scans, I´ll store them in a safe place.

A well done guide BTW, eplaining the basics of composite sync and more. When was it printed?

De nada, comrade 24bit! ;)

BTW, it's jt or Trash, as my username has always been a bit much to type. :approve:

Check out the Scan Dump again, it contains pics of the MacVDO Adapter, amongst a few others!)

Its the one in the left bottom corner for sure, jt.

Do you recall if it was of German origin maybe?

VDO was once well known for speed meters in cars, but they made many other stuff as well.

Could be just a name play on video though, vee dee oh :)

I have some jumperless adapters too, which came with a NEC Multisync, but I could never make those work.

Your adapters with dial wheels aere pretty cool.

I recall DB 15 to BNC cables for the real BIG Apple CRT displays, one doesnt see much of those any more.

All right, nailed that one right on the head!

I've still got a pair of ancient 21" Graphics Level CRTs with switchable VGA & BNC Inputs. ;)

I snagged a similar BLACK 22" ViewSonic CRT as a craigslist freebie this spring! [:D] ]'>

A couple of days later some guy sas begging for ANY big BLACK CRT available! }:)

BTW, that MacVDO guide was published in January 1994. [;)] ]'>
