So far I've not retrobrited anything. The shades of yellow don't bother me so much as when you can't find a matching hue part to use. I dunno it just hasn't ever seemed worth the trouble to retrobrite things. Whether it makes it worse or not why take the chance? Also seems like a very messy involved process when I've looked into it.

I’ve had variable success. I had great results with a IIfx that had been on a vertical stand. The IIfx had normal color on the top of the case where the stand hid the case from the sun, but the rest of the top looked awful. Retrobrite treatment worked well, and it still looks like new eleven years later. The same with a IIfx that had stickers I removed, and several of my SE/30’s.

The failures, though, including my wife’s Mac Classic, looked horrible. Recent failures while using H2O2 cream include a beige Mac Plus mouse, a corner of which is now gray, and repeat treatment of my wife’s Mac Classic, which now has permanent pale brush strokes across the case. At least brush strokes are an improvement from a brown dappled look.

I’m going to try the total immersion method for a couple of keyboard casings yet, then I’ll probably give it up. I’ve done far too much harm to treasured equipment.

I’m probably going to attempt to retrobrite my IIsi at some point. It’s very unevenly yellowed from having a monitor on top of it for most of its life. Probably also my AEK. On the other hand, I think I’ll probably leave my 7100 alone. It’s evenly yellowed and doesn’t look too bad.

There’s also the option of painting them. @jmacz systems have come out looking great from it, though not original.

It’s a constant struggle, I did cleanup this area yesterday and organize my drives and bezels I’m trying to get it to where it makes sense and I can actually find stuff. Right now I’ll set something down and 10min it’s later I can’t find it anymore… 😭😭😭

Big improvement over the prior picture.

New to me! Quite pleased bought it sold as is untested and it works!! $100 well spent. Now to spruce it up a little and fix that screen! Cosmetically it’s quite good, does need a battery I saw a rebuild thread around here somewhere may give that a go.
