Mac Plus Case Won't Go back on

I recently acquired a Mac Plus that I have restored to working condition (repaired broken solder joints on the analog board). Today I upgraded the memory to 4MB and had trouble getting the back of the case to go back on. Something seems to be catching on the right top corner (above the battery). I finally got it on once by bumping it just right, but then I took it off again to clean the floppy drive (which won't eject), and now I cannot get it back on no matter what I do. I have inspected the case thoroughly and I can't tell what it might be catching on. The first few times I took the case off I didn't have any trouble but this time it just refuses. Any ideas?

Finally got it back on but I am still not sure what the problem was. I think maybe the analog board wasn't slotting into the groove on the top rear of the case rather than anything catching at the front. Not gonna be taking the stupid thing back off again anytime soon though.

You're probably right: if the AB is even slightly misaligned the case won't go back on and you won't be able to work out why.

It's annoying.

This happened to me a couple days ago. For me, the bottom of the analog board was not seated properly behind the small metal clips. It took a bit of maneuvering to seat it properly, but the Plus case closed properly afterwards.

I figured out a trick... put a finger in the battery compartment and wiggle the analog board back and forth, and it will find the groove it's supposed to go into. Works much better than smacking the side of the case and cursing :)
