I'm trying to bring my old LC back online after replacing a failed hard drive. Back in the day, it was a web server and I had it serving up a tutorial on how to make your own old mac web server.
Since installing the new HDD, I've upgraded the OS to 7.5.5 again (drive came with 7.5.3 installed). The ethernet card in there is P/N 110-00014-100, which appears to be an Apple LC PDS ethernet card. I installed NSI 1.5.1 and set it to install the LC PDS drivers. I've set up MacTCP to have an IP address that's on my network. Of course, the ethernet cable is plugged into a working router and it's showing a green light on both the network adapter and on the router.
Still, when I ping the LC from another computer on the network, it cannot be reached. Also there doesn't seem to be any extension loading (or selectable in the extensions manager for that matter) that is for the Ethernet card. I've looked through this forum and haven't found anything that's both an answer to my question and has links to software that could help (such as the extension or drivers for the card).
Any advice on what I'm missing would be appreciated. I bet there's some piece to this puzzle that I've just forgot since setting up all of this before about 16 years ago. Thanks!
