First just try cleaning the board and replacing the leaky caps. I resurrected a couple that had more or less that same problem just by cleaning off the leaked electrolyte. The stuff is conductive so a blob of it can short two pins together or short a pin to ground or +5V. If it still doesn't work, then go from there but I bet it will.

will do. Hopefully the title company will stop asking for money every few weeks(doing a refi right now, so all my fun money is in limbo just in case) so I'll have the extra dough to get a few sets of caps and what not to do this SE/30, my dad's and the IIci. I did clean up the leaked goo, didn't want to to cause more damage while I wait.

nothing yet SE/30 wise... but now I have THREE working Pluses... the last has a 512k motherboard and back case(front case is from a mac plus) with no analog/PS board.

turns out the third one had a memory and analog board issues, all fixed. still not great though, it's very sensitive to noise in the power line(shaky screen when large appliances start up) guessing a filter cap is going? not going to worry about it, the case isn't that pretty and the board has broken SIMM holder. Boots off the floppy and works otherwise so decent parts machine at least...
