Iici sound issue

I bought a really challenging board this time, 4 trace repairs, lots of cap goo etc. got the board up and running fine, sound works fine through headphone jack. It gives a little blip noise instead of chime if just using built in speaker, and sound is distorted once os loads. Not sure how sound is managed on these boards. What are should i look at?

Yes i agree, the speaker is not great and only works if both contacts are connected properly on the bottom of the board

Check the IIsi Bomarc schematics to see where to buzz out / components to check too.

Speaker is often dead on these though - it was on my IIsi.

Well, speakers work with another board. I retinned the contacts and cleaned board. I think it chimed once when i was close to getting it working, just cant seem to get it too again now that board actually works. Headphone jack works beautifully

On the si board that's iffy, sound-wise, if you smack the side of the case while it's installed and powered up, does the speaker start working?
