iBook G4! No, really! Happy, happy, joy, joy!

Rather than try to completely disassemble the iBook g4 I recently got that needed a new HD and optical drive, I bought this:

As it turned out, the keyboard was bad, apparently it thought someone was continuously pressing the eject button or something. All the things I tried on it that involved key combinations, (PRAM, PMU, etc.) were completely ignored. It continued to pretend it was going to start up, and get stuck right where the starting os X progress bar was filled. Finally I tried just removing the keyboard, that fixed the disk drive problem. Under the bottom of the keyboard on the left side, and on top of the metal plate to the left of the memory niche, it looks like someone spilled something and that's what did in the keyboard. I'm so happy that there does not seem to be any other damage. I was able to erase and install Tiger with the use of USB keyboard and mouse, success! I gave it the keyboard from the first iBook G4. It's great! I am a happy clam! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
