iBook G3 DC-In Board

Having recently acquired an old iBook G3 Dual USB (with many faults) I have been doing it up gradually. One of these faults is the DC-in board. The AC adaptor doesn't charge the battery or start the iBook either. For power, I've been swapping batteries in and out of my other fully working iBook.

Anyway, I came here to ask if it is possible to repair the DC-In board? I have experience with soldering and electronics and I would prefer to repair it than splash out the cash on a new one.

Many thanks.

Probably so. I have a bad feeling that I managed to fry the DC board on the white iBook G3 that I got today less than 30 minutes after having taken it out of the box. (Yeah, I'm that good)

Anyway, gave it the sniff test and I smelt what I believe is ozone. Or whatever that smell is that blown-up electronics make. Without looking, I think it's a capacitor that blewup, something easy to replace. Or maybe I got lucky and blew a fuse.

Anyway, I need to figure out how to open this iBook first.
