Also you need the correct ROM revision to be able to use an ADB keyboard and mouse with that machine (v.74). Most people prefer the non-ADB though, so if you already have the right soundbox you may or may not care.

I'm glad I grew out of those eBay days a long time ago…yeah, I was the guy who ran into the school computer lab during band practice back in 2003 to make a last minute bid on a Mac SE :)
I'm that guy too, hehe. :) I haven't had to do anything like that at school (yet), but I've interrupted family meals because my iPod notified me that I was outbid.

Dude, SO jelly. I really want a Turbo board. I have a sample Proto-A chip in my 68040 25Mhz but a Turbo would be real sweet. I actually have a chip from a Turbo board but I don't think it's as simple as just swapping it out.

Thanks Hap.  It is in pristine condition and I'm pretty sure it's never been opened.

I appreciate the help archer174.  After trying a few things to try to get the original drive to boot properly, I gave up and installed another hard drive and did a fresh install of NeXTstep 3.3.  This allowed me to preserve the original drive as it was.

It had four user accounts and some office software (Improv, WordPerfect) and documents that had been created by the users.  Seems overkill for the era just to do that but it's a fantastic machine and is the new king of my NeXT computers.  I was very fortunate with this one.

Improv was supposed to be the NeXTstep "killer app"… Nice find in any case.

Pictures appreciated!
