High Resolution LC 550

I know that there are some ways to bump the Color Classic's resoultion to VGA (640x480), but can other all-in-one macs, my LC/Performa 550, for example, be similarly bumped up using a soldering iron from 640-480 to 800x600? With a little extra video memory, of course.

I really like my old 550, just thinking of ways to improve it.

That's an interesting question. I just watched @JDW's VGA mod for the Macintosh Color Classic (640x480) YouTube video and he shows that once the VGA mod is made you can get 800x600 on the Color Classic's 9 inch screen, not that its particularly useful on such a small screen. It seems like something very much the same could be done with 520/550/575s but perhaps useful with the larger screen real estate...

Challenge accepted! I guess the first order of business is to upgrade the VRAM and then I'll see about the extra resolutions. Thanks for the tip. It might be a few weeks before I find the time to tinker but I will try to post back.
