Hello everyone!
It's been a while since I've posted anything on here about some old Mac software I'm looking for called EasyShare. It is a pre-System 7, AppleShare compliant server software. There were a few of these around in the early 90's, but this was was unique in that it appears to work on a Mac 512k. I stumbled upon it on Gamba's page a year or so ago, however the link to download it was dead, and I hear Gamba has passed away as well.
I've spent quite a bit of time trying to track this down. It is not trivial, since there are several pieces of software called EasyShare. This is what I know:
EasyShare debuted in early 1990 from a company called ShirtPocket Software. By the end of the year, another company called Symmetry took over distribution of the product. The company was and is still run by a man named Tom Reahard. I emailed him about EasyShare, seeing if he might still have a copy to donate/sell. He was very nice, and looked for me, but was unable to find a copy. He also couldn't remember the name of the owner/founder of ShirtPocket Software. While it was a dead end, I do appreciate him taking the time to reply and look for me.
So, I'm throwing out a call again to the community to see if anybody has a copy of this software.
2 things I'd like to point out:
1. I don't have a particular problem I need to solve with this, it's more of a proof of concept. I know many of you will have suggestions about file transfers between a Mac 512k and a newer machine, but I really just need EasyShare.
2. There is a lot of name confusion around EasyShare. Kodak has software called EasyShare, and there is a Mac product called EasyShare from Chaotic Software that shares the clipboard between networked Macs. There is also another company called ShirtPocket Software that makes Mac software, but it is not the ShirtPocket from 1990.
There you go. I hope somebody knows something and can help! I appreciate your time!
