Got Solid State storage working my IIsi

For the past year I have been trying to get Compact Flash card working in my IIsi. I've tried several cards with out any luck. Most would fail to format and those that did would not boot.

Today I stumbled across a IDE to Secure Digital bridge, that coupled to a ACARD 7720U IDE to SCSI bridge using a generic 512MB SD card. I used FWB Hard Disk ToolKit PE to format the drive. I was able to install 7.5.3 on it and it boots.

I have not done any bench marks but it is at least as far the 80MB Quantum drive that was in the system before.

This is the bridge I used.

It only supports up to a 1GB card, but that is more than enough for me.

That's quite awesome. I've always been interested in replacing hard drives with solid state storage. There are even some guides on how to replace an iPod's hard drive with a CF card that I'm quite interested in.
