Finally got a TiBook!

I've always loved the TiBook. When they came out, I couldn't believe how amazing and modern the design was. Well my time has finally come to be a TiBook owner! This past week I won an 867MHz model for approx $50 shipped. Its not in great condition, and the current owner said there might be a screen issue but it looks better than most out there. It will arrive tomorrow, and I'm pretty excited. Specs are as follows:

867MHz

256Mb of RAM

40Gb HD

and Combo drive

Basically a stock configuration. Can anyone tell me if they shipped with 2x128Mb sticks or with 1x256 module? I've got another 256mb module here I can pull out of my Wallstreet G3, so 512Mb would make it usable with Tiger or maybe Leopard installed. Assuming I can get the display working properly, I look forward to having a solid "beater" powerbook to play with. Here are some pics from the auction http://img.inkfrog.com/click_enlarge1.php?image=aug25.JPG&username=protransactions&aid=076831175

Lucky you!

I've been trying to get a G4 Powerbook for quite a while but they sell for insane amounts on ebay and every one here is still trying to get $500 for a 500mhz...

Hope everything works well when it arrives!

So it arrived today, and what a pleasant suprise it was! It came loaded with software, and a simple PRAM reset seems to have fixed any display issues. Best of all, the computer came with not 256Mb of RAM, but a full 1Gb installed as well as an AirPort card. Battery is holding a great charge, and minus some keymarks, the screen is in great shape!

I have owned 4 Ti's in my lifetime.

Let me tell you those hinges are as weak as they come. When opening the LCD do so from the center so as to minimize the stress on either hinge. If god forbids one of them snaps, the other will follow soon.

I love the Ti's but their weak LCD hinges make it so I will never buy another one again.

Enjoy the extra RAM and airport card, those are nice addons.
