Finally found a compact on Craigslist!

Here in Columbus vintage/older Macs are hard to come by. Every now and then I search through Craigslist for something I'm interested in (Powerbooks and Compacts). Found a Mac Plus listed with no cords/keyboard/mouse for $80 (way high) and got it for $40. The case is a little yellowed, but the analog board is strong and it booted straight up from a boot disk I made years ago (something my other compacts struggle with for whatever reason, aging drives I suppose). Bonus: it has 2.5MB of RAM!

My immediate goal (once I repair the keyboard I have) is to connect it up to my i7 iMac using a Keyspan USB->Serial adapter to use as a terminal, just for fun.

I also have a much less yellowed, empty Plus shell that I may swap this into, it's pretty yellowed.

No problem. If you want to see all the details on it, you can check it here.

F= Fremont, CA. 7=1987. The 3rd and 4th digit will tell you the manufacturing week (unless the serial starts with FC (Fountain, Colorado), then it would be the 4th and 5th digit).

The easier way to check is to look at the brightness wheel and/or the power switch. These will be brown on beige models and grey on platinum. If you have the keyboard and mouse, the keys and mouse button will be brown on beige and grey on platinum.
