DiscMaster searches floppy and CDROM images from Archive.org

Archive.org is great, but it is really hard to find stuff there. That is one reason I continue to host VintageApple.org despite much of the stuff I've scanned having found its way to Archive.org; I can organize by collections and make things easier to find than on Archive.org.

DiskMaster seems like it could be a HUGE resource for finding software, drivers, etc. for vintage computing.

Well, it was posted on Hacker News which can crush any smallish web server. I had that honor once with VintageApple.org.

It was mostly the large PDF downloads that did it in. I quickly discovered I could set rate limits on downloads and that helped.

When I worked in web hosting it was normal for us to get a call either right before or right after a large press release, asking for help to keep the server(s) alive. It was much easier in advance lol, but we always did what we could, especially if they didn't know it was about to happen.
