Classic full of goo

I got a Macintosh classic today for a few euro's.

The seller said it sounded like it was working, but the screen was nog functioning. Since it could be an easy fix it went to get it.

When I got home I saw some goo dripping from the ventilation holes. The outside is in great shape, but the inside has been eaten by battery goo.

This looks like a huge amount of damage that I can't fix. To bad.

I guess i'll be on the lookout for a classic, in working condition but with a bad outside. :)

Never say never...just ask Uniserver...http://68kmla.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=22035&start=0.

The logicboard doesn't look too bad actually, no components missing. I would try cleaning it up and assess the damage then.

You never know. There could still be a living machine in there. Try cleaning it first (like the others said) and go from there.

Looks fairly isolated to that corner. Give it a good clean as suggested. Could mostly be cosmetic damage.

If you turn it on, what happens?

If you get a chime, then attempt a ressurection.

If you get a sad Mac, send it to uniserver.

If you get a big bang, send it to the tip.
