Well my 1993 Centris 610 gives me the chimes of death with any memory in the ram slots. Doesn't make any difference which memory chip I'm using. It will boot up fine with the 4 mb of onboard memory. So I'm guessing something has fried on the mother board memory slots.
The memory chips are working fine. I have 2 32 mb chips and a 4mb and 8 mb chip. They all work in any configuration on my 6200 power pc. And on my Centris until now.
I'm on my second mother board on my Centris. I have 2 2 gb hard drives installed and an 2x external cd drive.
I have a new motherboard (will be the 3rd in this machine) ordered from on e-bay. It will be the 3rd motherboard installed on my Centris. I Just refuse to let it go.
The video went out on the first motherboard, and seemed to be going out on the second motherboard. Then it just went to the chimes of death on me.
This Centris ran from about 9/93 to 10/06 running almost continuosly from the day I bought it before the video gave out on the original mother board. It's never shut down I just leave it running and am still using the original keyboard and mouse.
Any other ideas? The pram battery is still good at 3.62 volts.
