Macintosh Quadra 840av

** I HIGHLY SUGGEST THAT, IF YOUR Q840av is working right now, And you haven't changed the CAPS yet. DO IT NOW! **

-- BE happy your Quadra 840av works, (If it works). I have completed about 8 boards now, The Cap goo --- and rotting traces and VIA's

This is a SERIOUS problem with these 840av's **

Looks good!

By the way, if you come across any duds, could you please send them my way? I might be able to cobble together a working board for myself by swapping components around.

Thanks!

Reminds me of the Amiga 4000, but less discreet components and fewer types of caps to order. Still a packed board.

I'm learning lots on this site, and all the info about caps is very enlightening.

What symptoms are we likely to encounter with the Q840AV?

My Q840 was working fine (on continuously for months) until it froze. It wouldn't restart. Got power to LED and drives, but no startup chime or video. PSU and all peripherals have been proven ok.

Thanks, G.
