Just re-capped my Quadra 605, only one of these caps was leaking, the 47uf16v right near the SCSI connector, the others were not leaking.

If you change the caps before they start leaking its over all a much better, more friendly experience :)

I changed this one for a customer that wanted to see what a q605 looks like with tantalums. I do not normally remove flux like I have here. but just an example of what i'm capable of.

That is a BIG heat sink. Can you get a tall (128M) SIMM in the RAM slot with that bad boy on there?

Looking forward to seeing those little yellow boxes on my 605 (someday).

That is a good question! I bought that 128mb stick for the Mcdermd LC475, just to make it over the top :)

this one has a 32mb in it.

Those heat sinks are wide and long but quite thin, I do not think a 128meg stick will fit, I would have to change the heat sinks.

The 128meg simm clearance from the bare cpu is about the thickness of a quarter (once installed) it's tight.

Think that heat would affect the RAM?

We need a liquid cooling system for our super LC/Quadras.
