You pulled up the data sheet for the 630H and not the "regular" 630, that's why ;)

I would only recommend the latter for the mod, as the 630H can only do 16A on the 5V rail instead of the 630's 35A.
Only caveat, it needs at least 500mA on the 12V rail to be happy.

Ok I see, the 0.5A min current stated there is quite clear. Would your circuit board also work with the 630H without the resistor? (As long as I could resist the temptation to let three 5.25" disks spin up at the same time :love:)

That I'm not so sure. I chose the 630 because of its strong 5V power output but this mod is theoretically compatible with anything that has an ATX 22/24 plug.

>33 Amps for 5V is nearly unobtainable these days. But there are plenty of PSUs with 25A outputs.

Found this on ebay, bought one of each and decided to wire up the U2 server PSU for my quadra. Powered it on with just the board connected, seem to be ok.
