Benchmarking SCSI2SD Devices in a PCI powermac

2TB SATA drives should get 100-200+MBs on native SATA ports (depending on how old they are). No PCI card is going to get more then 80-100MBs because of PCI bus and overhead (I have a PCI SATA card in a machine with dead built in SATA ports so I know).

I have plenty of Mac native SCSI cards and they tend to do better under OSX then classic Mac OS.

2 TB definitely do get 100 to 200 MB/sec, but 30 to 35 MB/sec actual filesystem transfer (not benchmark transfer, which might just be reading or writing in a tight loop) on a first generation PCI Mac is pretty good, especially considering that the memory bus is so slow.

I've seen and used plenty of 64 bit PCI SATA cards. People with 64 bit slots should definitely look for those.
