Bars vs. Checkerboards on Classic II

If I'm observing a Mac Classic II without opening it up, is there any real difference between a computer showing four bars vs. a checkerboard? Obviously, both will lead to capacitor replacement, but is there anything else to be concerned about if bars are there instead of a checkerboard?

Its probably related to the RAM manufacturer. the initial state of RAM on powerup defines that behavior, and it varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
