Back Porting the Classic ROM to the SE

Another thing to note, the developer notes for the classic says that it can technically work with ROMs up to 1MB (not the 2MB implied by the ROM socket).

This would mean we could make a ROM with a bigger ROM disk and bit more software, or perhaps System 7 on it.

We'd need a second bodge wire to work in the SE, but the same contents would work in the Classic.

I missed the beginning - you were successful getting the Classic ROM working? Wow!

I'm not really looking to make any more ROM adapters for compact Macs, but if somebody else wants to try it, the design of the ROM-inator I (for Mac Plus) is available on the BMOW site and it might not take much modifying to fit the SE.

Not tested, but verified it should be possible because the BBU enables the ROM in the required address range, and the Classic ROM is happy with the Radius TPD PDS card at the very least.

I'll have a search and see what I have in the house. I think I have some 1M by 16bit chips that I could make a prototype with
