Any interest in 16MB Mac IIFX memory modules?

I received mine too. Good stuff. I'm not in the same place as my IIfx at the moment so it'll be a while before I can test.

Yeah, I did. I was actually fiddling with the cpu crystal when I was doing it. I think I may have shorted something when I turned it on.
Ouch!  That hurts!

There was a IIfx motherboard that recently sold on eBay for a decent price ($40 if I recall).  Would have made a decent parts board.  I've seen IIfx parts show up fairly reasonably from time-to-time.

I made the other modules, but my IIFX decided that it didn't want to play anymore. I think the CPU took a hike since I heard a pop in that area. I'm ordering another CPU, should be here next week.
Ouch, that's a bummer... hopefully it's simple enough to remedy. Your workmanship on this 128MB set looks perfect and it's working flawlessly in my system; the height clearance is just perfect to retain my dual drive tray too!

Actually I just fixed it. It looks like the trace on the CPU crystal for the output enable literally blew. I fixed the trace and it's perfect now lol.

I'm glad it's working  :)  Yeah I saw the 3rd party 16MB ram modules from back in the day and they are quite tall lol.

So I have 6 sets of 4 left and that's all there's going to be (have a few other ones just in case there's a problem with someones)

Love how you're burning through that reel megabytes at a time; thanks for doing this for the community!

Was fiddling with the crystal more on the Mac.

120 mhz Crystal = 60 mhz Mac = Crash on boot with a bus error

110 mhz Crystal = 55 mhz Mac = Works fine, but sound is completely messed up

105 mhz Crystal = 52-53 mhz Mac = Works fine, but sound is kind of messed up

100 mhz Crystal = 50 mhz Mac = Everything seems to work fine.

I have a 50 mhz 030 and 50 mhz FPU installed and I don't really want to test it on a 40 mhz 030 hah.

Btw that's the original ram I made, it's too wide, so I can fit it in, but it's never coming out lol.

I’d like to sign up for a 128mb set - trying to get a modern Linux kernel running on my IIfx and more RAM would make it easier!

For anyone interested in these I thought I would post my opinions of the 128MB kit I received.

Overall, the fit and finish and quality is superb. I literally felt like I was holding and looking at a professionally manufactured product made in a factory. I would never have guessed these were made by hand.

I put them into my first IIfx (which was made in the first batch of released IIfx and is serial number 181) and they snapped in perfectly just like my OEM ram. Could not feel any difference.

My IIfx booted up with zero issues. RAM test takes forever so if you’re not used to that just sit and wait for the black screen for around 30-45 seconds. I didn’t count but it feels like an eternity.

Booted up just fine and ran RAMoMeter RAM test once and it tested positive. Ran Speedometer and some operations were slightly faster. I also ran Norton Speed Test and everything checks out. Will be running RAMoMeter for a continuous test for a few hours just to be certain but my initial thoughts are:  WOW!!
