Analog board swap?

Hi all,

I have a 128k Mac that powers on but the display never turns on, and I have a Mac Plus that consistently gives a Sad Mac. Am I able to swap out the analog boards between the two? I'm not very familiar with this era AIO, unfortunately.

Thanks,

Kyle-

Yes you can. On the 128k I assume you tried the brightness knob? Often overlooked.

If you want to make sure the 128k board is not dead, you can also just install it (less rear bucket) into the Plus and see what happens. Often the 128k boards have cracked solder joints at the connector.

If your Plus is a platinum model, you most likely have a more reliable power supply in there regardless. Swap them to make one good Mac for now, troubleshoot to get your non-working parts up and running.

Thanks for your responses, folks. Both the Pluses I have are beige models. Yes, I have tried the brightness knob, but thanks for the recommendation; I can see how that would be easily overlooked.

I don't have the time anymore to dig too deep into these machines, but obviously want to try and get the 128k up and running.

Thanks folks!
