A funny picture (SE-FDHD)

Happy to have received an SEFDHD in perfect condition inside (4mb RAM/ 40mb working Quantum HDD and 2x FD floppy drives!) I knew the case was mangled but wanted it for spare parts for my SE/30. Also, had the Sony power supply which I wanted.

However, this is a very cool computer so I may restore the case somehow (bondo?)

But you just have to wonder what was going through this guy's mind. I would love to have witnessed this - maybe.

More importantly. I got the 1989 battery off the logic board!

Sigh. Didn't spot the screws in the handle recess, or didn't have a long enough screw driver.

Why were they so desperate to get in?

I don't know why, but I'm very glad they did not get in. It was spotless inside. Barely any dust even! And no (internal) monkey business. Never seen one this clean. This thing will live again.

Time to remove the battery then

Few years back there were loads of empty case about from all the people that though a flashing question mark meant a mac was beyond repair. There must be still a fair few nice cases about from battery bombed machines.

Absolutely. First thing I did was take out that 1989 battery!

Also used the hard drive to test the SCSI bus on my SE/30...that was the one remaining question as I still haven't gotten around to making a decision on what drive I wanted to put in it. That would've been a bummer if there had been an issue after all that work.

Wow, this is amazing what paint did you use (color/brand?) to renovate this case? I have a FatMac in a similar condition and wonder about repainting. Thanks
