I just won a 333mhz Grape iMac G3 with original stuff for $96.01! I'll pick it up tomorrow. The price may be a little high, but I really wanted this. At the end there was even a bidding battle! I just narrowly won. :D

Very nice. :) I've got a Lime one, myself, i've been using it as my main Mac for the better part of 7 years. Still a great machine, just a little burdened by modern software, sadly. :(

I'll be keeping it on Mac OS 8.6 when I get it. I always liked that OS, even though I used it for only a few months, years ago.

8.6? 8-o That's prehistoric! :p Why not try Tiger on there, it can easily handle it (with some extra memory of course) and in my opinion would be a lot more fun with it :) Or if you do want Classic, surely 9.2.2 is the logical choice? I've never really used 8.x OSes, despite my recent acquisition of a real copy of 8.5, as I don't have any 68ks that can take 8.1 and there aren't any Macs that can take 8.6 that can't take 9 so I don't see that you would ever use that one nowadays.

Looks a nice machine though, and it's great to get all the bits with it like that :)

I try to keep all my macs on different OSes to keep them unique. I chose 8.6 over 9.2.2 because 8.6 is lighter, and 9.2.2 didn't add any features I use. I can't wait to see the About the Mac OS Credits easter egg again after so many years.

That is quite cool - I was just looking at that on my 3400c with 8.5.

I just bought a clouds mouse pad from Staples so it will look as outdated as possible. :p

I hope the guy will let me pick up the iMac soon.

9.2.2 is actually very fast in comparison to 9.0-9.1. There really isn't much reason to use 8.6 over 9.2.2 if speed is your only concern and you get all the newer features of Mac OS 9.

I don't have another license of 9 either.

But I see no benefit in 9 for me, so why use it on this? IMHO

I also just miss the OS 8 days. :-/

I just spent an hour rearranging my space to fit the iMac. I hope I get to pick it up sometime.

Where do you live that they're so expensive? BINs tend to run between 60 and 80 USD...Including shipping. The books and disks are cool but I wouldn't bump the price 20-40 for them...

I live 15 miles away from the item location. Ironically, I bought a Macintosh Server G4 (Gigabit Ethernet) local pickup off of eBay for only $68.75 a few months ago.

The one other bidder was bidding very high on the iMac (the starting bid was $9.99), and I was serious about winning the mac. I knew that I wouldn't see a tray-loader with original stuff for a long time. I had wanted one just like that for about a year. Anyhow, it's worth it for me! [:D] ]'>

Very nice. I have a bondi and he HD is slowwwwwwww. I suggest a new HD for it and more RAM and it will be a nice OS X machine.

I got the iMac! I guess they weren't very familiar with macs, because everything is loose in the root of the hard drive. Also, the trash contains pictures of their baby taking a bath, which they probably wanted to delete before selling. (The seller I bought this mac from had it for three days before selling it on eBay, so it wasn't him) I don't think they knew how to empty the trash…

Anyway, I'll be doing a complete restore, so it will be like a factory-fresh iMac.

EDIT: Judging by the documents contained on the HD, this is from a senior citizen. In a document, it says "I am a senior citizen" somewhere in it. The many card games would help create this conclusion as well. Also, these documents weren't modified since 2000. Think I should keep them?

I'm restoring the iMac right now! I did keep the documents and applications. I really like this iMac. It feels like buying one new in 1998.
