128k, Mac Plus, and beige!

Hey all,

Posted a wanted ad on my local Craigslist, and a nice retired man replied, saying he has "three Mac Plus and four old 'towers.'" I told him I'd be glad to check them out - hoping he might have mistaken a similar Mac or two as a Plus as well. I got to his house, and the entire basement was loaded, wall to wall, with Windows boxes, with the few Macs he had sitting in a corner. Long story short, I now have a Centris 610, PowerMac 8100/100, Multiple Scan 720 display, one working Plus, one that doesn't work, and a working 128k Mac!! Each of the three had keyboards, but no mice to be found.

Also got some floppies, including two original System disks, two Guided Tour floppies, and MacDraw & MacPaint. Unfortunately, one of the system disks and the MacDraw & MacPaint disks are too old to use - not even my SE/30, with working floppy, can read them =(

The 128k works, and is definitely an original, judging by the lack of "128k' on the back label, and the serial number indicates it was made in 1984. It cleaned up nicely, but is pretty heavily yellowed, as are all of the boxes. I passed on a Ruby iMac G3, as well as a 7200 & 7600.

Not a bad haul for $50!

The 128K and three old-style keyboards are a great find! The missing mice are easier to find for some reason.
