My SE/30 has now started rebooting by itself in a vicious loop, and "extensions off" makes no difference.
On a couple of switch on's it also displayed the shown pattern for a couple of seconds, which then disappears before it tries to boot?
I am following Larry Pina's guide to repair a Mac Plus analogue board power supply, page 23, but I cant find a silicon controlled rectifier Q10 (CR400Y) or an equivalent on Mouser???
I have a NetGear WNCE2001 (RJ-45 Ethernet to 802.11) WiFi bridge adapter connected to the ethernet card in my SE/30 and I can ping the SE/30 from a Classic connected to my internet router via an Asante EN/SC and a 10T hub.
I'm running system 7.5.5 on the SE/30 and whether using MacTCP or Open...
My Classic Mac defaults to LocalTalk instead of Alternative Ethernet and doesn't save my selection of Alternative Ethernet on restarting which I would like as I am using a Mini Asante EN/SC for file sharing.
Is there a way of making my selection stick?
My SE/30 is now freezing during startup from a cold start and on the second try it starts up no problem.
It also freezes from a cold start with extensions off and I think it's happening before the extensions are drawn on the screen.
Would Macsbugs show me what's happening? and does it sound...
I've just got another SE/30 which will only read write protected floppies and doesn't recognise unprotected floppies, but asks to format them, and when I try this it makes the usual chugging sounds but then fails at the end and says the disk is bad.
Connecting a, known to be good, floppy drive...

Can't be right surely?
I've now found the ethernet card is stopping my SE/30 from booting as when I remove it it boots fine.
When switching on with the card installed I get no chime (or bong) and the screen stays black,. Why?

If I boot my Clamshell iBook in OSX and then start the Classic System 9.2.2 I retain the OSX setting to double click on the trackpad.
If I boot into System 9.2.2 I can't use double click on the trackpad because I can't find a control panel to let me set this function and I find the computer...

And I've tried everything to get the...

I think that a higher lifetime at a higher temperature is good...
Sometimes when I switch on my Classic the hard drive starts to spin up then suddenly slows down like the power's been cut, it makes a noise and then starts to spin up again... and would go round in a loop if I left it on. xx(
At other times it just spins up and everything's fine :b&w...
