G4 Cube & Airport Card

Afternoon all,

I have strange problem, I have 2 Power Macintosh G4 cubes - both are running fresh installed OSX.4.11

On one of them airport card did work previously when I formatted the HDD. Other G4 Cube - never worked. Can't see the card installed in OSX.

Ive tested the cards in my G4 MDD and both is working.

What am I doing wrong? The card is installed correctly

Cheers

Install airport.  I guess double check connections inside the cube to motherboard also. G3's will not install airport usually.  Its why they had a stand alone installer much like 68k/powerpc and ethernet cards.

I recall lots of Cube owners had similar issues with Airport not being detected even if all plugged in.  Try a PRAM and CUDA reset, also scour CubeOwner forums for similar topics.

Thank you - already done that, even removed the battery, disconnected PRAM and reset CUDA.

Very strange problem!

See?! This is a huge reason for computers with blinkenlights. Just some kind of status would set the mind at ease.

Anyway...crazy concept...have you tried to install OS 9? It has a different AirPort client than X. Maybe first install 9.2.2 and get everything all setup, then install 10.4.11 to bring it to EOL? Mine had some issue seeing the card till I installed 9, and now I never use X on it.
