Really? They don't even sell it?
The recyclers here seem to resell the stuff for cheap.
Some dumps here do. One I went to puts certain items aside and then takes them to an outlet store. However, I wasn’t able to purchase an item of furniture I wanted on location as it ‘had to go to the store’.
I Googled a bit more on this topic. One response on a Reddit thread as to why they don’t just let us take stuff goes like this: ‘The tip staff already hate their job without having to deal with people fighting over dumped furniture like people at the reduced section in supermarkets’.
It’s that, plus the health and safety/litigation thing as some people would unfortunately try to sue the council if they injured themselves on items they took.
