To glue or not to glue

Howdy,
I just adjusted the CRT on a compact Mac (this time a SE/30).
Adjusting the tilt and screen position meant cutting/breaking the glue on the rings and collar.
I've done a few of these and haven't bothered re-gluing. Just curious what most folks do...
Thanks

No glue here, I find there's enough resistance to movement without it; a dab of hot glue would do just fine if you wanted a bit of insurance.

I use a little bit of fastener marker paint (dykem, markal, etc.) just so I can see where I set it and whether it has moved.

I use a drop of liquid electrical tape. Like zigzagjoe mentioned, there is enough resistance and the drop just marks it, like obsolete said.

Same...I just mark it so I can tell if it's moved, but I don't find that any kind of adhesive is necessary to keep everything in place.

Which ring’s need adjustment? I replaced the crt in a mac plus and two rings came loose. So just left them. It works fine but the display is a little to the left. How to adjust that?

I should add that all of the caveats RE high voltage are especially in place here as the CRT is 'on' while the adjustments are made.

So, rubber gloves and a non conductive tool to move it? Like a piece of wood:) the rings are already unglued so should be fairly easy. Thanks for clarifying what I need to do. Cheers
