tanzania board and re cpu card

Recommended Posts

had to wonder if a tanzania board is just simply a tanzania board or is it possible for certain ones to not be able to swap between a 603e and 604e type of cpu card?

thanks, and mm one example I had in mind was the starmax 4000 which doesn't have a 603e in it (yeah its that one being offered from uk atm)

LPX-40 (Tanzania) boards have a soldered BGA CPU. None of them, to my knowledge, have something like a ZIF socket *like the Supermac line did) or a daughter card CPU.

I suppose if one were industrious and skilled with hot air reworking, they could swap the 603ev with a 604e.
