  1. I just wanted to share this little trick I discovered. I got my hands on a Macintosh SE/30 with an AZERTY keyboard (in Belgium), and with a dutch version of System 6. When I installed System 7 on it, I wiped the hard drive first, to make sure all the previous files were removed. The issue is, the EN_US System 7 version doesn't have AZERTY support out of the floppy. I could just install the French/Dutch version, which would have AZERTY support, but I'd prefer to use the English version. So after looking for versions in other languages, I stumbled upon System 6.
  2. Hi guys, I just bought a Power Mac G4 which according to wikipedia can use the universal install of Mac OS 9.2.2 -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_OS_9#endnote_A1 (I have the PowerMac G4 (quicksilver)) I installed the OS fine but once the installed OS boots it freezes. It seems like this is because the OS is not actually compatible with the hardware. According to the page below even universal install images have a special procedure to install as a universal install (which is totally confusing to me) https://discussions.apple.com/thread/936301?tstart=0 I downloaded the
  3. Hi guys, I'm trying to install Mac OS 10.4 on a Power Mac G5 (11,2) The install disc I'm using is a 10.4 Install Disk with Xcode 2 that I bought from eBay. When I try to boot from the DVD I get a kernel panic. The kernel version is Darwin 8.0.0 I then tried to boot into Safe Mode where the topline error is "Unable to find driver for this platform: PowerMac11,2" Looking further on eBay it appears that nobody differentiates versions of Mac OS that are compatible with the 11.2 hardware revision for the G5. When I try to boot into single user mode I get a kernel panic again.
