  1. Thanks for the tip, I will check these out! Thanks! Will check out this brand as well. Problem is, I'm very familiar with the equipment in the PC world, where you can search and find a plethora of information about "ps2 kvm's" or the like, but I had the hardest time finding anything for ADB (except for a 15 year old article about the Dr. Bott unit, and a bunch of e-stores who have the equipment listed but all OOS ) I checked out your link; I like your re-purposing of PS/2 KVM's. At that point, I'd just need to buy the 4-pin mini DIN connectors for the consoles + the periphe
  2. Hi all, I've been getting back into the Mac liberation game lately and I seem to be acquiring more machines than I have keyboards/mice and monitors for . I've seen around the forums here that, if you can get your hands on one, the Dr. Bott ADB KVM is the best. I've also seen mention of the "cheapie" KVM's, which I imagine are just the old mechanical switch types. The problem is that I can't seem to find a source for either of these types of KVM's. Does anyone know where to get these ADB switches, either the Bott version, or the switch only? Thanks!
  3. Is your backup of a retail OSX disc or a machine-specific disc?
  4. I don't believe my unit has an L3 cache. The more research I do, it looks like picking up a MDD G4 might be better, plus I'll be able to use DDR memory and the 2GB limit like you mentioned, but I'll also keep my eye out for a Quicksilver dual CPU card with heatsink and if the price is right, I may do that. Thanks for all the pointers, I'll let you know what happens
  5. Hey folks, I have a G4 Quicksilver from 2001 with an 800MHz processor. I'm going to be beefing up the memory to 1.5GB but I had a question about the CPU. Currently it's the single 800MHz and I've been reading about overclocking it Here I imagine that I could get the CPU up to 867 or 933 without any significant changes in my cooling system. As a matter of course, I'd probably upgrade the heatsink paste to arctic silver. Instead of overclocking though, I was wondering if it were possible to drop in a CPU daughtercard from a MDD G4instead of OC'ing? Thanks for the help!
  6. Wow! That's great luck, and you can't beat the price! I always wanted a G4 Cube. How much memory does that thing have?
